Ignacio Wer, renowned for his genre-blending approach to music, unveils his highly anticipated ambient album ignacio wer presenta: brumarena – en calma, de veras on January 15th, 2025. This marks a significant shift in his musical journey as he embraces a fully ambient, electronic landscape under his new alias, brumarena. The album is a testament to his artistic growth, blending emotional depth with sonic exploration, and offering a cathartic experience for both the artist and listener. Inspired by a series of personal and professional setbacks that rattled his emotional core, Ignacio found solace in the ambient music he had been exploring for years. His desire to create a peaceful, healing sound led to the creation of en calma, de veras, an album born from moments of improvisation and unfiltered creative expression. “It’s a record that speaks to my journey towards inner calm,” Ignacio reflects. “The process was an incredibly cathartic one for me, and I believe the music embodies my truest self.”

Drawing influence from ambient legends such as Brian Eno and Laurie Spiegel, en calma, de veras is the culmination of a three-week period of creative freedom. Guided by Rick Rubin’s philosophy that art isn’t about perfection but true self-expression, Ignacio abandoned conventional structures. The songs were crafted in single-recording sessions, letting each piece evolve organically as fleeting moments of inspiration washed over him. This spontaneous approach to composition results in a deeply personal and immersive listening experience, where texture, melody, and ambience intertwine seamlessly. The album’s titles collectively form a short poem that encapsulates the journey of emotional release and the eventual peace that follows. The work was recorded and mixed at Ignacio’s home studio in Berlin, with mastering by Taylor Deupree at 12k Mastering, ensuring that every sonic detail resonates with clarity and intent. The ambient textures of en calma, de veras evoke the sensibilities of Aphex Twin, Alessandro Cortini, Skee Mask, and Kali Malone, while also channeling the vast, ethereal landscapes of the Kosmische Musik movement. For Ignacio, the album marks a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution, solidifying brumarena as a vehicle for ambient and electronic experimentation.

Ignacio Wer is an artist whose musical soul transcends genres, from his early days forming the Argentine band “Zolvein” to his exploration of indie folk, psychedelic rock, and electronic music. Over the years, he has shared stages with icons like The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Liam Gallagher, and Bruno Mars. After relocating to Berlin in 2019, Ignacio released his debut solo LP Primavera, followed by his 2023 album No Hubo Más, each pushing the boundaries of folk and electronic music, with influences spanning from Bob Dylan, Athahualpa Yupanqui and Neu! His recent works continue to break new ground, including his 2024 EP Much A Time In Ache, which marked his first steps into the ambient genre. With en calma, de veras, Ignacio introduces brumarena, a new project that marks his full commitment to exploring ambient music. Influenced by the pioneering sounds of Brian Eno, Laurie Spiegel, Cluster and Aphex Twin, amongst many others, ignacio wer a.k.a. brumarena invites listeners into a world of introspection, emotional release, and sonic discovery.
